action

It was winter when the queen was sitting at the window sewing and singing about how much she wanted a child. As she pricked her finger, three drops of blood fell into the white snow and the queen sighed: "Oh, if I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood and as black as the ebony on this window." König said that a miracle would have to happen if what one had hoped for ten years in vain would come true. But the queen did have a daughter who was exactly as she had hoped. That is why the little princess was given the name "Snow White". The queen died shortly after the little girl was born. Snow White grew up and became more beautiful day by day. When she was 16, the king took a new wife and Snow White was full of joy and had everything lovingly prepared for her reception.

However, the new queen reacted condescendingly and when her Snow White stepped before her eyes, she was dismayed by the beauty of the young girl and let the king feel it too. When she asked her mirror shortly afterwards who was the most beautiful in the whole country and received the answer that Snow White was a thousand times more beautiful than she was, she was indignant and angry that it was not inconvenient for her that the king was away for more than a month Had to do business. She hypocritically responded to his request to be on good terms with his child. However, the opposite was the case and with her maid she devised the plan to have Snow White killed by the hunter in the forest. The willow man tried desperately to resist, whereupon the queen made it clear to him that something would then be done to his children.

Since the hunter did not have the heart to kill the lovable young girl, he told Snow White what the queen had ordered and was relieved to accept the solution proposed by the girl to go deep into the forest. Unhappy Snow White wandered through the forest and saw a small house in the distance. When the princess entered, she found everything to be perfectly clean and the table was already set for seven people, and everything was available seven times. Hungry as she was, she took just a bite from each plate and only drank a sip from each cup. After that she was tired and found a little bigger bed under the little bed in which she lay down and fell asleep.

"Rumble, pump seven, we the seven dwarfs" sang the dwarfs coming home from their work on the mountain. They immediately noticed that something was different in their little home. "Who ate from my plate, who drank from my mug" and further questions made their voices confused. When they came across the sleeping girl, they were overwhelmed by Snow White's beauty. They reassured the awakening girl that it was with the seven dwarfs and that there was no need to be afraid. Snow White told them about her stepmother who wanted her dead. Of course, Snow White is allowed to stay with them, but should be careful with strangers.

"I am the most beautiful in the kingdom and no one else is the same as me," explains the queen and asks her magic mirror again, but to her great annoyance receives the answer that Snow White is a thousand times more beautiful than she and, when asked, Snow White is with them seven dwarfs behind the seven mountains. The queen now decides to take matters into her own hands and poison the unloved stepdaughter. In a worn dress, disguised as a traveling merchant, she approaches Snow White to kill her with a poisoned comb. When she presses it into the princess's hair, she sinks senseless to the ground. In the evening the dwarfs find the unconscious girl and also discover the comb, which is difficult to pull out. As soon as they have removed it, Snow White wakes up and tells what happened.

When the queen questions her mirror again, he again gives the hated answer that Snow White is a thousand times more beautiful. “Snow White alive, the devil gave this answer,” she hurls at the mirror. Once again she thinks about killing Snow White. This time she wants to offer the girl a poisoned half of the apple and eat the other half herself so that the girl does not suspect.

The king, who has since returned, is desperately looking for his daughter with his loyal followers and refuses to believe that she is dead. Should the queen actually be guilty, his patience is over and she will have to pay for her guilt. The disguised queen is meanwhile again with Snow White and offers her the red apple half through the window and tastes the white one herself. Her plan works, her hated stepdaughter sinks down motionless. When the dwarfs find Snow White this time, they can no longer save her. Meanwhile, the wicked queen finally receives the long-awaited answer from her mirror that she is the most beautiful.

Snow White has been laid in a crystal coffin by the dwarfs, where they take turns keeping watch. When the Prince of Bogenland comes by, who is on the hunt, and sees the beautiful girl, he wants to know if she is just sleeping. When the dwarfs tell him that it is Snow White, he reports that the princess is being sought all over the country and then adds that it has happened to him since he saw Snow White. The dwarfs give in to his urgent request to be allowed to take Snow White with them, and when one of the prince's servants stumbles while lifting the coffin, the piece of apple comes off Snow White's neck and the girl wakes up again. When the prince confesses his love to Snow White, she replies that she would like to follow him because she loves him too. Just at the moment when Snow White is talking about her father, he approaches, who was still looking for his daughter, and they happily embrace. He is also happy to give his child the blessing for the wedding to the Prince of Bogenland.

When the Queen learns that the Prince of Bogenland wants to pay his respects and introduce his bride, she immediately worries that no one should have seen her so far. When she questions her mirror, her worst fears come true, for it tells her she is the most beautiful here, but the young queen is a thousand times more beautiful than she. She rules the mirror that he is lying, since Snow White is no longer alive and there could not be anything more beautiful. Shortly afterwards, the veiled young woman faces her father and the evil stepmother. She wants to know the name of the bride, to which the young king replies that she must guess it and mentions that her stepmother tried to kill his bride. He wants to know what punishment is appropriate for such a person and the seven dwarfs, who of course were also invited, suggest drastic measures. The queen is also questioned and says: “I would get iron slippers, make them red-hot on hot coals. She would have to dance all night, the bad one, until death relieves her pain. ”The young king then unveils Snow White and the queen is deeply shocked. She has just made her own judgment, the young king lets her know. She desperately tries to implore mercy, but cannot find anyone to help her. Only Snow White stands up for her and suggests leading her into the dense forest and leaving God's hand to what happens to her. The stepmother humbly kneels in front of the young woman and thanks her. The king agrees and the young king adds: “Good wins, bad falls, that's how it should be in this world. We are now moving toward a brighter future with pure mind. With a mild glow, Snow White will also be a wise queen. "The dwarfs now say goodbye to the young woman for good:" Snow White, since you are happy, we are no longer staying here. "
