Dawn Addams

Dawn Addams (* 21st September 1930 as Victoria Dawn Addams in Felixstowe , † 7. May 1985 in London ) was a British actress .

Life

The daughter of Captain James Ramage Addams lost her mother at an early age and spent her childhood in the United States and in Calcutta, India, in addition to England . She trained as an actress at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and went to Hollywood in 1950 , where she was the first leading actress in the crime thriller The Hour of 13 after a few smaller roles such as the one in the classic dance film You shall be my lucky star . She also took part in a troop support tour during the Korean War.

In 1954 she returned to Europe and in the same year she married Don Vittorio Emanuele Massimo, Prince of Roccasecca . Her son, Prince Stefano Massimo, was born on January 10, 1955. In 1956, Charles Chaplin gave her the female lead in his film satire A King in New York .

Addams continued to work in leading and supporting roles in European crime novels, horror and agent films, then also in television series and in London theaters, where she appeared in performances of a musical about Peter Pan and in the play The Wild Duck.

In September 1974 she married Jimmy White. At the beginning of the 1980s, she ended her career and commuted between America and Europe. She spent most of the time on her estate in Malta, where she made a name for herself as the hostess.
