Raffaele Palladino (born April 17, 1984 in Mugnano di Napoli ( NA ), Italy ) is an Italian football player . He is a striker but can also be used as an attacking midfielder .

Career

In the club

Raffaele Palladino began his football career in the youth teams of his home club Amici di Mugnano , from 2001 to 2002 he played for Benevento Calcio in Serie C1 .

In 2002 Palladino moved to Juventus Turin and scored 41 goals in 61 games for the Primavera between 2002 and 2004 . On March 17, 2004, he made his debut in the 0-2 in the Coppa Italia game against Lazio Rome in the first team.

For the 2004/05 season Palladino was loaned to Salernitana Calcio in Serie B and was the team's top scorer with 15 goals in 39 games.

The season 2005/06 disputed Raffaele Palladino, again on loan, for AS Livorno in the Serie A . Often plagued by injuries, he only scored two goals in 21 games.

For the season 2006/07 returned Raffaele Palladino Juventus back, because of the manipulation scandal 2005/06 in the Serie B relegated had. There he had to assert himself in his position against greats like Alessandro Del Piero or David Trezeguet . After only a few appearances at the beginning of the season, he was able to attract more and more attention as the season progressed. He played his best game of the season in a 5-1 home win against US Triestina , in which he scored three goals.

In the 2007/08 season Raffaele Palladino was part of the extended tribe at Juventus. He was used regularly and was often used by coach Ranieri in the right and left attacking midfield. On the left he has already represented Pavel Nedvěd several times and showed good performances. Palladino's highlight of the season was the Derby d'Italia against Inter Milan , where he was even named player of the day . In the second half of the season, however, his performance declined, which is why Juve sold half of his transfer rights in the summer of 2008 for around 5.5 million euros to CFC Genoa , for which he has been running since the 2008/09 season . In the first half of the season, the offensive player only played a few games due to a knee injury, in the second half of the series Palladino with many goals and assists became an important part of Gian Piero Gasperini's team, which finished fifth in Serie A.

In June 2009 the transfer business was extended by one year. In 2010 it was agreed to extend it for another year.

In 2011 Palladino moved to Parma FC , for which he was active for four years. In summer 2015 he joined FC Crotone , with whom he was promoted to Serie A in the 2015/16 season . In January 2017 he switched back to his ex-club CFC Genoa.

In January 2018, Palladino moved to Spezia Calcio .

In the national team

Raffaele Palladino went through the youth national teams U-19 and U-20 . For the U-21 team , in which he made his debut on February 8, 2005, Palladino has completed eleven games and scored four goals. In 2007 he was also in the squad of the Italian U-21 selection for the U-21 European Championship in the Netherlands .

On November 21, 2007 Palladino made his debut under coach Roberto Donadoni in the senior national team . He was in the last match of the qualification for the EM 2008 against the Faroe Islands in the starting lineup of the Squadra Azzurra .
