Gina Falckenberg , actually Anna Regina Falckenberg (born September 14, 1907 in Emmering , Germany ; † February 12, 1996 in Lucca , Italy ) was a German actress , writer and screenwriter .

Life

Otto Falckenberg's daughter made her debut in 1927 at the Münchner Kammerspiele , where her father was theater director. She was seen here as Manuela in a girl in uniform (based on the play Yesterday and Today by Christa Winsloe ), daughter in Liliom and Ilse in Spring Awakening . From 1930 she appeared on theaters in Berlin, namely at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm , Kabarett der Komiker , Volksbühne and the Theater in Behrenstrasse .

From 1932 Gina Falckenberg took part in feature films. In her screen debut Razzia in St. Pauli , she immediately took on the female lead role of a prostitute, later she was seen in larger supporting roles. Mostly she played daughters from a good family and, depending on the situation, could be both good and seductive.

In 1939 she met the Italian director and writer Giulio del Torre and married him in Rome. In Italy she played mostly theater and appeared three times in film. She shifted more and more to the writing of novels and in 1954 received the literature prize of the city of Pisa for her story The Zaungast . In her play La passante , she took on the lead role herself at the premiere in 1955 in Viareggio . At the end of the 1950s, some of her scripts were filmed in Germany. Besides Rome, she lived on her Italian country estate in Lucca.
