Emmering is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Fürstenfeldbruck . The community borders on the district town of Fürstenfeldbruck in the west and is about 25 kilometers west of Munich .
geography
The Amper flows through Emmering . Two amper bridges connect the two parts. City hall, school and football stadium are located on an Amperinsel, which is formed by two arms of the Amper. There is also the Hölzl landscape protection area , a local recreation area through which the Amper flows with many branches.
The municipality has two officially named parts of the municipality (the type of settlement is indicated in brackets ):
- Emmering ( parish village )
- Roggenstein ( Good )
Untere Au and Tonwerk belong to Emmering and are not officially designated parts of the municipality. The division of Emmering into Fett- and Dürr-Emmering is also not official.
history
Until the church is planted
From pre-Christian times there are 13 destroyed Bronze Age burial mounds as well as three also destroyed Hallstatt Age burial mounds.
The first documentary mention takes place in a list of goods of the Benediktbeuern monastery from the 11th century. There Emeheringen (meaning: With the people of Emheri) is mentioned for the time between 740 and 770 . In the 14th century, the Emmering village court fell to the Fürstenfeldbruck monastery .
In 1818 the community was formed together with Roggenstein and Wagelsried. The community belonged to the Dachau district court until 1823 .
21st century
The historic Schwankharthof was demolished in 2012.
Outsourcing
The Wagelsried part of the community was added to Alling in 1978 .
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 5,647 to 6,713 by 1,066 inhabitants or by 18.9%.

Attractions
- In the Roggenstein district there is the Roggenstein castle stable with a St. George's chapel with frescoes from around 1400.
- Together with the churches of St. Stephen (Pfaffing-Biburg), St. Sebastian ( Puch ), St. Magdalena and St. Bernhard (Fürstenfeldbruck), the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist in Emmeringen forms the Fürstenfeld parish association. The previous building from the 14th century was demolished in April 1928, whereby the tower was preserved and integrated into the successor building. The new church was consecrated in December 1928. Many of the furnishings of the old building were taken over, such as the large crucifix, the pulpit, the side altars and the font. The church tower was raised in 1962 and a full interior restoration took place in 1990.

Emmering is connected to the A8 between Munich and Stuttgart via exit 78 Dachau / Fürstenfeldbruck . Furthermore, Emmering can be reached via federal highways 2 and 471 . Although Emmering is on the S4 line of the Munich S-Bahn , it does not have its own stop. The nearest train stations are in Fürstenfeldbruck and Eichenau.
Sports
Soccer
The football club Emmering , founded in 1925, is the second largest club in Emmering with over 700 members. In addition to football, there is also a stick shooting department.
For almost 50 years, starting in 1956 with promotion to the then II. Amateur League, the first team of FC Emmering was one of the most successful teams in the Fürstenfeldbruck district. FC Emmering made a name for itself with games against Bundesliga clubs (Bayern Munich 2 ×, Werder Bremen, Schalke 04) and a legendary guest appearance in Voronezh, Russia, in front of 32,000 spectators (1977). In the early 1970s, the FCE founded one of the first women's teams in Bavaria.
tennis
Emmering has a large tennis facility at Siedlerstrasse 17. This has 4 indoor tennis, 8 badminton and 2 squash courts as well as an indoor golf course. Furthermore, there are 3 outdoor spaces available for the summer season. The TC Amperpark Emmering e. V. also produced 3 ranked players.
athletics
The athletics department of TV Emmering, founded in 1898, is one of the most successful teams in the Munich area. Many German and European champions have already been discovered and trained here. The department owes this great success mainly to head coach Franz Kopeczek.
