District Court of Dachau

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dachau district court was an old Bavarian, ducal ruling district with its seat in Dachau , which reached from the middle Ampertal in the east to the Isar and was bordered to the northwest by the Glonn .

In the Kingdom of Bavaria, the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities whose administrative tasks were taken over by district offices from 1862 onwards. In order to distinguish between the different areas of responsibility, the previous regional courts have been referred to as regional courts of the older order since 1862 .

history

Since the end of the 12th century, Dachau Castle had been the dominant center of the local property of the Counts of Scheyern and the Wittelsbach family. To the north, the district court of Dachau bordered the old Bavarian district courts of Kranzberg and Aichach , to the west of Friedberg and Landsberg , to the south of Starnberg, to the east of Wolfratshausen and the residential city of Munich , and the episcopal Freising county of Ismaning .

When the lower judicial and police authorities were reorganized under the direction of Minister Montgelas , the Dachau district court received the Indersdorf area from the Kranzberg district court in 1803, but had to surrender the Neuhausen area to the newly formed Munich district court. When the regional court of Bruck was formed in 1823, the regional court district lost another 16 tax districts .

The separation of justice and administration at the lower level in the Kingdom of Bavaria led to the formation of the Dachau District Office in 1862, to which the administrative business was transferred; the district court existed until 1879 as a purely judicial authority under this name and was renamed the district court in 1879 due to the nationwide court system.

The districts of the district court and district office (since 1939 district) remained unchanged from 1862 to 1972.

Central Authority

Since the division of the kingdom into districts from October 1, 1808 , the Dachau district court has belonged to the Isar district , which was renamed Upper Bavaria district in 1838.
