Together with Jesenwang, Landsberied was a center of the Huosi , one of the five Bavarian nobility and nobility families of the Baier tribal duchy in the early Middle Ages . Landsberied is mentioned in 853 as " Lantbertesrieod " in the Freising tradition books and means something like "the clearing of Lantbert". The naming of St. Bishop Lantbert von Freising (937–957) as the founder of the village is therefore certainly a misinterpretation. It is correct, however, that St. Lantpert von Freising , who comes from the Counts of Ebersberg, had family connections with the family member Eberhard I († 959), Count an der Amper, in the region.

The municipality of Babenried was first named as Pabenrieth in 1148/56 and means something like "clearing of the Pabo", a descendant of the Huosi family branch of the Babo. The church of St. Johann Baptist in Babenried turned out to be a Romanesque building during the renovation in 2000.

The Weihenstephan and Fürstenfeld monasteries later had considerable holdings in the community area. The coat of arms components three red roses and the golden wing (Weihenstephan) as well as the red / silver Cistercian shaft bar (Fürstenfeld) for the municipal coat of arms are taken from these two monasteries. Landsberied belonged to the formation of the District Court Bruck (1823) for District Court Landenberg ; with the parish edict of 1818 the present parish.

The hamlet of Hirschthürl was first mentioned in 1147 as Hirzduri . The name refers to the courtly hunt, for which hedges were built, at the “gates” of which game was caught with nets and snares. The noble Otto von Altmanstein donated his property in Hirschthürl to the Tegernsee Monastery in 1147. Later the place belonged to Lichtenberg Castle near Landsberg am Lech .

20th century

The church of St. Johann Baptist was built in 1931/32 in the neo-baroque style. In 1963, Landsberied became the national winner in the competition " Our village should be more beautiful ".

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 893 to 1617 by 724 inhabitants or by 81.1% - the highest percentage increase in the district in the period mentioned.
