Hirschthürl was first mentioned as Hirzduri in 1147 when Otto von Altmanstein donated his property in Hirschthürl to the Tegernsee Monastery . The name of the wasteland refers to the courtly hunt, for which hedges were built, at the “gates” of which game was caught with nets and snares.
