Theater in Behrenstrasse

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There was a theater in Behrenstrasse as early as the 18th century ; in its heyday it was directed by Karl Theophil Döbbelin ( Döbbelinsches Theater ). The theater was at Behrenstrasse 53/54 in Berlin-Mitte . It was one of the first bourgeois theaters in Berlin.

On September 17, 1928, Ralph Arthur Roberts opened  his own boulevard stage here - immediately to the right of the then Metropoltheater - which offered around 580 spectators. At the theater in Behrenstrasse he was the owner, director, actor and often enough director of his own plays. He ran it until his death in 1940.

In 1935 Maly Delschaft played at the theater in Behrenstrasse in Schwank. It always turns out differently next to Erik Ode and Kurt von Ruffin . Hedwig Wangel played there from 1931 to 1932.

Performing members at the time (1936) included Alwin Neuss and Friedl Haerlin .
