The TSV Marktoberdorf is a sports club from the district town Marktoberdorf the district Ostallgäu in the Bavarian administrative region of Swabia . It consists of the departments football , athletics , handball , modern pentathlon , swimming , squash , tennis , table tennis , gymnastics and health sports , volleyball and basketball . In the past, the TSVM also had an ice hockey team that played in Germany's fourth-highest division in the 1980s.

The division had 1977 Hockey point game operation in the Bavarian-division of (BEV) was added. As early as 1978 , the first championship of the regional league group 4 was achieved. The following year, the team won the Bavarian State League Championship and thus secured promotion to the Bavarian League .

Bayernliga ice hockey could be seen in the district town for two years, until it was promoted to the regional league in 1981 . At the end of the season, however, the relegation was certain. From the following year until 1993/94 was played in the Bavarian State League. In 1994, the league game in the BLL was stopped and the ice hockey team of TSV Marktoberdorf withdrew from the BEV leagues. In the last twelve seasons, the TSV ice hockey team won the regional league championship in Group IV three times .
