SC Brandenburg

The Sportclub Brandenburg Berlin e. V. ( SC Brandenburg ) is a Berlin sports club that was founded in 1923. He currently owns the departments of badminton , hockey , athletics (running center), taekwondo and tennis . The ice hockey department among others were dissolved.

In the club, both amateur and recreational sports are carried out and competitive sports are promoted. The association has over 650 members across all departments.

ice Hockey

In 1929 the team won the Berlin championship for the first time and qualified for the finals for the German championship. A third place was achieved there. After the runner-up championship was achieved in 1930 through a final defeat against the Berlin ice skating club , the Brandenburg Ice Sports Association could not take part in 1931 and 1933 after qualifying for the finals due to a lack of travel allowance.

In 1934 the team became German champions by winning the final against SC Riessersee , with the Berlin ice skating club being defeated in the semifinals.

1935 to 1938, the team was able to qualify for the final round, but did not advance through the preliminary round there. In 1943 the team was asked to take part in the war championship and reached the quarter-finals, where they lost to the LTTC Rot-Weiß Berlin .

In 1944, the war syndicate with the Berlin ice skating club was invited to participate in the war championship, which won the final against the LTTC Rot-Weiß Berlin and thus won the German championship title .

In 1958/59 the SC Brandenburg Berlin and the Berlin FC Preussen formed the EG Brandenburg-Preussen Berlin , which failed in the final for promotion to the top division at EV Landsberg . Then the team played in 1961/62 in the group league , but where it was withdrawn before the 1962/63 season. For the 1965/66 season, the team moved up to the Regionalliga Nord , but rose again immediately.

After that, the ice hockey team was no longer represented in the higher-class league area.

Taekwondo

The Taekwondo department of SC Brandenburg Berlin was founded on June 11, 1984 as "Taekwon-Do Center Berlin eV". By voting in March, membership in the SC was decided on May 1, 1985. The association was instrumental in founding the “Taekwondo Association Berlin-Brandenburg eV” (TVBB) in 1992. But already in January 1993 the SCB left the TVBB and founded the Berlin Taekwondo Association (BTV) on February 2, 1994. On New Years Day 1995, the BTV was accepted as a specialist association for Taekwondo in the Berlin State Sports Association. Since 1998 there has been an association partnership with "Satori eV" from Dresden . In April 2000 and April 2001 the BTV was allowed to host the "International German Open" of the German Taekwondo Union (DTU).

tennis

With almost 500 members, the tennis department is the largest department of SC Brandenburg. The spacious tennis facility with its ten clay courts is located in the Eichkamp estate directly on the Grunewald, not far from the Mommsen football stadium. A three-field air dome is available in the winter season. A tennis ball wall and a beach volleyball court complement the sports facilities. A year-round gastronomy with an outdoor terrace is connected to the club.

The tennis club has around 20 teams. The club employs five trainers for tennis training.

hockey

The hockey department has been one of the most successful hockey clubs in Berlin for years. A total of eight German championship titles could be won.
