The women's ice hockey Bundesliga season 2000/01 was the 13th Bundesliga season for women in Germany. In the course of the season, TV Kornwestheim was able to prevail again and win the title of German Champion .

The league was carried out by the German Ice Hockey Federation .

mode

The preliminary round was carried out separately in the relays in a single round each against each with a return leg. Subsequently, the places 1 to 3 played the intermediate round and the places 4 to 6 the relegation south and north.

Preliminary round

In the preliminary round, the three best teams in each of the two groups were determined, which qualified for the intermediate round, in which the participants in the final tournament were determined. The three worse placed in the two groups had to qualify for the next Bundesliga season via relegation .

Relegation

In the relegation games, the last three places in the league groups had to defend themselves against the advancement of the regional league teams from Solingen, Crimmitschau and Frankfurt, which had previously qualified for the relegation round in an intermediate round. Finally, all Bundesliga clubs were able to secure relegation.
