Franziska Reindl , married. Wessely , (born September 16, 1982 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German ice hockey player . She is the daughter of the former national ice hockey player Franz Reindl .

Career

Franziska Reindl started ice hockey at the age of 13 in Garmisch, Austria. She later continued her career at SC Riessersee and, after the insolvent club was relegated to the state league in 2002, she moved to the Bundesliga club ERC Sonthofen . After her training as a sports and fitness clerk at the German Ice Hockey Association, she worked for a year at the Canadian ice hockey association Hockey Canada and played in the SAWHA league with the Calgary Hurricanes. After her return in 2005, she moved again to SC Riessersee. In 2006 she went back to Calgary, where Reindl again spent 1.5 years. After last year's baby break, Reindl is back on the ice for SC Riessersee.

Reindl was a member of the organization committee for the 2010 men's ice hockey world championship in Germany .

National team

In 1999 Franziska Reindl was accepted into the German national women's team. The process was partially criticized because her father was the sports director and team manager of the national ice hockey team at the time. However, he confirmed several times that only sporting reasons were decisive for the nomination. In 2002 Reindl took part with the team at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , where they finished sixth.

Private life

Franziska Reindl has been married since July 2009 and has been called Franziska Wessely since then. Their first daughter was born in June 2009.
