Stephanie "Steffi" Kürten , gsch. Wartosch-Kürten , (born November 12, 1978 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German ice hockey goalkeeper and striker who took part in the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics with the German women's national team . Together with her two sisters Sabine and Sandra and her father Peter Kürten , she won several German championships with ESG Esslingen and TV Kornwestheim .

Career

In her long career she achieved several German championship titles and played for Germany at the Winter Olympics in 2002 (in Salt Lake City ) and 2006 (in Turin ). Their clubs were EHC Eisbären Düsseldorf , Neusser EC , ESG Esslingen , TV Kornwestheim and OSC Berlin- Schöneberg. In addition to ice hockey, she played inline hockey (with the puck) and inline skater hockey (ball) for VT Zweibrücken and TV Kornwestheim. With the team from Zweibrücken , she was German champion , cup and European cup winner several times .

Between 2003 and 2005 she took part in three world championships with the German national inline hockey team.

In January 2007 she switched from the goalkeeper to the forward position in order to motivate herself again for the sport of ice hockey. By the end of her first field player season, she scored 5 goals and 5 assists in 9 parties.

Between 2010 and 2012 she ended her career at ESG Esslingen , where she played again with her sister Sabine.
