Kerstin Spielberger (born December 14, 1995 in Burghausen ) is a German ice hockey player who has been playing in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga for ESC Planegg since 2008 . Between 2012 and 2014 she was also active for the EHC Klostersee in the school and youth league.

Career

Kerstin Spielberger learned to play ice hockey at the age of five, as her father was an active player at the time and her brother also played ice hockey. Her first club was SV Gendorf Burgkirchen .

At EHC Waldkraiburg, she went through the male junior teams and from 2010 played in the school league for the club. At the same time, she was used from the 2008/09 season for the women's team of the ESC Planegg in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga . She was also accepted into the U15 national team in 2008, and from 2010 she played for the U18 national team. With the ESC Planegg she won several German championship titles as well as the championship of the Elite Women's Hockey League 2009/10 and the EWHL Supercup 2011/12 .

Kerstin Spielberger took part in the U18 World Championships in 2011 , 2012 and 2013 in the junior division. At the 2012 tournament she was the best goalscorer of the German team with eight goals and the second best goalscorer (behind Haley Skarupa ) of all participants.

In 2012 she left the EHC Waldkraiburg and then played for the EHC Klostersee in the school and youth league.

At the women's world championship in 2012 she made her debut at the age of 16 - she was the youngest German player - for the women's national team at a world championship and finished seventh with her team. At the tournament the following year she collected her first scorer points at a women's world championship and reached fifth place with the national team.
