The 2012/13 season of the Austrian women's ice hockey leagues was held parallel to the Elite Women's Hockey League . In the first Bundesliga, the Neuberg Highlanders were able to repeat their title wins from previous years . The second Bundesliga was won by 1. DEC Devils Graz . The EHV Sabers Vienna then successfully defended their state championship.

Women's ice hockey Bundesliga

The women's ice hockey Bundesliga was played from September 15, 2012 to March 2, 2012 in the form of a simple round-trip round without play-offs. In addition to the five Austrian teams, two Slovenian teams and one from Croatia took part.

The Neuberger Highlanders thus qualified for the play-offs for the national championship title.

Austrian state championship

The state championship of the 2012/13 season was decided in play-offs. The tables of the Elite Women's Hockey League 2012/13 and DEBL were rated as the regular season . The EHV Sabers Wien (2./EWHL), the DEC Salzburg Eagles (3./EWHL), the WE-V Flyers (6./EWHL) and the Neuberg Highlanders (1./DEBL) were eligible to participate . The teams played in the best-of-three mode for participation in the finals. The winners then competed for the title of "Austrian State Ice Hockey Champion 2012/13". The other two teams played for the bronze medal in the same mode.

Semifinals

The semi-finals took place on March 9 and 10, 2013. Only two games in the series best-of-three were necessary. The favorites prevailed despite the sometimes tight results.

Bronze games

The bronze games took place on March 16 and 23, 2013. In the first game, the Viennese team had home rights.

The finals took place on March 4 and 10, 2012. In the first game, the EHV Sabers had home rights. With two clear victories, the club won the state championship for the tenth time.

For the Grazer Devils it is the first title in DEBL2 after 2 silver and 2 bronze medals, for the Linz Ice Cats silver is the best placement in the club's history and after the bronze medal in 2009/10 the second "podium place".
