The 2011/12 season of the Austrian women's ice hockey leagues was held parallel to the Elite Women's Hockey League . In the first Bundesliga, the Neuberg Highlanders were able to repeat their title win from the previous year . The second Bundesliga was won by the second team of the Neuberg Highlanders. The EHV Sabers Vienna then successfully defended their state championship.

Women's ice hockey Bundesliga

The women's ice hockey Bundesliga was played between September 2011 and January 2012 in the form of a simple round-trip round without play-offs. In addition to the four Austrian and two Slovenian teams, there was also a Turkish selection.

DEBL 2

The DEBL 2 was carried out in a basic round in the form of a single round with a first and second leg and subsequent play-offs in best-of-three mode.

Austrian state championship

The national championship of the 2011/12 season was decided in play-offs. The tables of the Elite Women's Hockey League 2011/12 and DEBL were rated as the regular season. The EHV Sabers Wien (1./EWHL), the Vienna Flyers (4./EWHL), the DEC Salzburg Eagles (6./EWHL) and the Neuberg Highlanders (1./DEBL) were eligible to participate . The two best-placed Austrian teams in the EWHL played in the best-of-three mode for the title of "Austrian Women's Ice Hockey State Champion 2011/12". The other two teams played for the bronze medal in the same mode.

The bronze games took place on March 3 and 10, 2012. In the first game, Salzburg had home rights.
