The Flyers played their home games in the Albert-Schultz-Halle . The greatest success in the club's history was winning the Austrian championship in the 2000/01 season . The Flyers were also able to win the runner-up title four times ( 1998/99 , 1999/2000 , 2001/02 and 2008/09 ).
history
EHC Vienna Flyers Vienna was founded in spring 1998 by Alexandra Sumper and Gudrun Thaller. The name "Flyers" is derived from the organizational foundation of the new club by the AUA and Lauda Air operating teams .
In the following season, the women's team took part under the name "EHC Vienna Flyers - the Mighties" in the Austria-wide women's Bundesliga championship, which was held for the first time, and was runner-up behind the Gipsy Girls Villach . A year later this placement was repeated and in 2001 the first and so far only Austrian championship was achieved. Since 2004 there was the first international elite league , the Elite Women's Hockey League , in which the women participated.
In the 2008/09 season, the Flyers competed together with the EHV Sabers Vienna as a game community Sabers / Flyers United in the EWHL and the state championship.
At the end of the 2011/12 season, the Flyers stopped playing and a large number of the players switched to the Wiener Eislöwen .
