The game community Sabers / Flyers United was a game community of the two Viennese women's ice hockey teams EHV Sabers Vienna and Vienna Flyers , which existed in the 2008/09 season. The management of the syndicate was subject to the board of EHV Sabers.
history
The two Viennese teams, which had participated in the IIHF European Women Champions Cup and the Elite Women's Hockey League in previous years , decided to form a game community for the 2008/09 season. Both departments hoped to be more competitive by merging their best players, especially when compared internationally. The SG took part in the Austrian State Championship as well as the Elite Women's Hockey League and the European Women Champions Cup this season.
However, the syndicate was not very successful in its only year of existence. In the state championship, the Viennese lost to rival EC The Ravens Salzburg in the final , in the European Women Champions Cup the team failed in the first group stage at the German representative ESC Planegg / Würmtal and in the EWHL they finished seventh and penultimate with only four wins Space. This is one of the reasons why the syndicate was dissolved again after a year.
