The 1998/99 season of the Austrian women's ice hockey league was the first season of a women's ice hockey championship held in Austria . The first champions were the Gipsy Girls Villach .

Participant field and mode

The field of participants in the first season consisted of four teams from the federal states of Carinthia, Vienna and Tyrol: the Gipsy Girls Villach , the Vienna Flyers from Vienna, the Red Angels Innsbruck and the Wildcats St. Johann . A round trip was played, which resulted in six games per team.
