Hector Avalos

Hector Avalos (born October 8, 1958 in Nogales , Sonora , Mexico ) is an American scholar of religion .

Life

Avalos studied Christian theology at Harvard University , Harvard Divinity School, and the University of Arizona . Avalos has been a professor of religion at Iowa State University since 1993 . He is an atheist and describes himself as a secular humanist .
