DJ Q-Ball

DJ Q-Ball (born October 8, 1974 in Limerick , Pennsylvania ; real name Harry Dean Jr. ) is an American DJ , singer and rapper . He became known as a member of the Bloodhound Gang .

biography

At the age of 15, DJ Q-Ball began to play records and later took part in professional DJ training. He then studied environmental sciences and business administration, and in 1995 he joined the Bloodhound Gang, at that time largely unknown. His breakthrough with his band came with Hooray for Boobies , with which he charted number one in Germany and Austria . After two years on tour, the band took a six-month break to pursue private life. In 2005 the fourth studio album Hefty Fine was finally released .

In 2008, Q-Ball and Troy Walsh founded the Federal Moguls, the two-piece band produced the album High Risk Investment Planning , which was available for free download and belongs to the alternative hip-hop genre. In 2015, Hard-Off, the Bloodhound Gang's fifth album, was released. There he appears in the song We're Gonna Bring The Party To You .

Private

The Bloodhound Gang is known for its antics and scandals, especially at concerts. In an interview he gave to Planet Interview in 2006, Q-Ball made it clear that they were doing this for their audience. In private, however, these are "completely normal". He also said that as a musician it is better to stay free, because you are often on the go and therefore have little time for a partner. Despite this statement, he got engaged to his girlfriend Beth in 2012, and both finally married on January 31, 2014.

His favorite German bands are Die Toten Hosen and Spezializtz , and he also likes Thomas D and Smudo from the Fantastischen Vier .
