Jaime torrent
Jaime Torrent Albornoz (born October 8, 1893 in Linares ; † 1925 ) was a Chilean painter .
Torrent studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes with Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor . As his pupil he belonged to the painters group of the Generancion del Trece , from which he however withdrew after Sotomayor's return to Spain . He died of tuberculosis in 1925 . During his lifetime he received two awards from the Salon Official in Santiago, and his works were only shown in exhibitions after his death. The Pinakothek of the Universidad de Concepcion has his painting Retrato de Julio Vásquez Cortés .
