Friedrich von Fronau

Friedrich von Fronau (* in the 13th century ; † October 8, 1293 ) was bishop of Chiemsee from 1292–1293 .

Life

Friedrich, whose birth year is not occupied, came the knights of Fronauer or those of Fronau (noble family) , whose family seat, the castle blackness mountain in the Upper Palatinate was. From 1279 to 1282 Friedrich von Fronau was canon in Salzburg and then until 1292 provost of the Augustinian canons and archdeacon of Herrenchiemsee . After the death of the Chiemsee Bishop Konrad von Himberg , he was appointed his successor on March 28, 1292 by the Archbishop of Salzburg, Konrad IV von Fohnsdorf . Since the Diocese of Chiemsee was an own diocese of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, he also acted as auxiliary bishop in Salzburg. In this activity he is engaged in episcopal acts three times.

Friedrich von Fronau's episcopate ended after only one and a half years. His place of death and burial are not known.
