Friedrich (Chiemsee)

Friedrich († February 3, 1387 ) was Bishop of Chiemsee from 1361-1387 .

Life

Friedrich's year of birth and origin are not known. He was pastor of Zell am See and notary of the Chiemsee Bishop Konrad von Liechtenstein and the Archbishop of Salzburg Ortolf von Weißeneck . After the death of the Chiemsee Bishop Ludwig Radlkofen before September 1, 1361, he was appointed his successor.

Like his predecessors, Friedrich was also auxiliary bishop in Salzburg and in this office he carried out several episcopal acts outside of his district. Under Archbishop Pilgrim II von Puchheim, he also held the post of economist at the Archbishopric of Salzburg . In the papal mandate he worked for the Apostolic Chamber with the collection of the benefices ( intercalary fruits ) of the vacant diocese of Brixen . In 1377 he was entrusted with the review of the election of the provost of Berchtesgaden . A year before his death he took part in the Salzburg Provincial Council. The places of death and burial are not recorded.
