Carl Aigen

Carl Aigen (born October 8, 1685 in Olomouc ; † October 22, 1762 in Vienna , also Karl Joseph Aigen ) was an Austrian painter .

After training in Vienna and Frankfurt am Main, he lived and worked in Vienna from around 1720. In 1754 he was appointed a member of the local academy . After Aigen was temporarily head of the Academy, he was a professor there until the end of his life. He mainly painted small-format genre pieces and everyday scenes.
