Philippe Boutros Chebaya
Philippe Boutros Chebaya (born May 20, 1920 in Bisharri , Lebanon ; † October 8, 2002 ) was the first Maronite bishop of the Baalbek-Deir El-Ahmar eparchy in Lebanon, which was newly founded in 1990 .
Life
On March 25, 1944, Philippe Boutros Chabaya was ordained a priest in the diocese of Batrun . The appointment of the first bishop of Baalbek-Deir El-Ahmar on 9 June 1990. The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch , Cardinal Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir and the co-consecrators Bishop Roland Aboujaoudé and Bishop Georges Abi-Saber OLM initiated him on August 5, 1990 Bishop . His retirement was on June 10, 1995. Until his death on October 8, 2002, he was former bishop of Baalbek-Deir El-Ahmar. He was succeeded by Paul-Mounged El-Hachem .
