Akakos
Akakos ( ancient Greek Ἄκακος ) is the eponymous founder of the Arcadian city of Akakesion in Greek mythology .
He is one of Lykaon's sons , all of whom are considered the founders of an Arcadian city. After Pausanias he was considered by the Arcadians as the tutor of Hermes , who was nicknamed Akakesios (( κακήσιος ) after him and who was venerated with a cult statue on a hill near Akakesion. Pausanias mentions that there was another myth about Hermes Akakesios in Thebes and Tanagra , but does not elaborate on it.
Presumably Hermes Akakesios can be identified with the Homeric Hermes, who is known as a defender of misfortune and as a giver of good gifts ( Ἑρμείας ἀκάκητα ).
