Daniel Horthemels (* before 1655 in Middelburg ; † October 8, 1691 in Paris ) was a Dutch bookseller and publisher .

Horthemel's father was also a bookseller, but in his hometown Middelburg. In 1655 Daniel Horthemels married Marie-Anne Cellier , who was the daughter of the bookseller Antoine Cellier. They had six children together. The three daughters Marie-Anne , Louise-Madeleine and Marie-Nicole and the son Frederic became engravers . A son, who was also baptized in the name of Daniel, took over the bookstore and the publishing house together with his mother after the death of his father. The son Denis started his own business as a publisher and bookseller.

In addition to the Bible and Calvinist edification literature , Horthemels also published contemporary authors such as Guy Tachard , Alexandre de Chaumont and Philippe Couplet . Between 1683 and 1686 also the journal of the medical doctor Jean Brunet .
