Michael Joseph Stephen Dudikoff (born October 8, 1954 in Redondo Beach , California ) is an American actor who achieved cult status, primarily with his appearances in several B-films , mainly from the field of action and thriller.

Life

Dudikoff, son of a Russian balalaika virtuoso, studied child psychology at Harbor College. He started his career as a model, but when he was offered a supporting role in the television series Dallas in 1978 , he focused more on the film business. He could still be seen in the television series Happy Days before he received his first film role in the film The Black Marble in 1980 . His breakthrough came in the mid-1980s at Cannon Films in the lead role of the lone fighter Joe Armstrong in the action flick American Fighter and in the sequels American Fighter II - The Mission and American Fighter 4 - The Destruction . In Air America he played a supporting role alongside Mel Gibson and Robert Downey Jr. As a result, he worked mainly in low-budget productions such as Radioactive Dreams , Platoon Leader and Soldier Boyz . The television series Cobra with Dudikoff in the lead role was discontinued in 1993 after a season. He often shot with the director Fred Olen Ray .

After the 2002 film Stranded - Operation Space , Dudikoff did not appear as an actor for around ten years.

Michael Dudikoff has a daughter, who grew up with his separated mother, and a son. He speaks some Russian.
