Soldier Boyz is an American action film directed by Louis Morneau from the year 1995 with Michael Dudikoff in the lead role.

action

The film begins with a United Nations aircraft with aids being shot down by rebels over Vietnam . After the crash landing, the rebel leader Vinh Moc kills all passengers and takes the UN worker Gabrielle Prescott, who was on board and is the daughter of billionaire Jameson Prescott, hostage in order to blackmail her father.

To rescue his daughter, Prescott turns to veteran Howard Toliver, who works in a Los Angeles prison . For this purpose, Toliver should choose six prisoners who should help him with the liberation mission and who should be pardoned after a successful mission. After Toliver chooses inmates Butts, Monster, Lopez, Vasquez, Brophy and Lamb, the group is flown to Vietnam, where they have three days to free Gabrielle.

After the troops had a first fight and celebrated in a village brothel, Brophy sneaks away and is captured by the rebels. The next day the rebels invade the village and ask the villagers to hand over the remaining Americans. The troop then decide to free Brophy, with Lopez and Monster dying. The group then flees into the jungle, where Lamb steps on a mine. While Toliver tries to defuse the mine, a group of rebels slowly approaches. Brophy then flees again, this time to distract the rebels from Toliver's troops, where he is killed.

Toliver and the rest of his troops eventually find the rebel camp where Gabrielle is being held. After Toliver has searched the camp and found Gabrielle, the troops storm the camp, free the hostage and flee into a truck. Vinh Moc pursues the group with a helicopter, but Butts has placed an explosive charge in the helicopter when he stormed the camp, which he now detonates and kills Vinh Moc with it. The group can now safely leave Vietnam in a helicopter.

criticism
