Ivan Sergeyevich Aksakov
Iwan Sergejewitsch Aksakov ( Russian Иван Сергеевич Аксаков , scientific transliteration Ivan Sergeevič Aksakov ; * September 26th July / October 8th 1823 reg. In Nadeschdino, Ufa Governorate ; † January 27th July / February 8th 1886 reg. In Moscow ) was a Russian writer and influential Slavophile . He was the son of the writer Sergei Aksakov and younger brother of Konstantin Aksakow .
Ivan Aksakov took part in the Crimean War. During the Russo-Ottoman War , he spread the idea of Pan-Slavism in the press . Dmitri Svyatopolk-Mirski described him as the most important Russian journalist, after Alexander Herzen . Aksakov also wrote the first biography about his father-in-law, the Slavophile poet Fyodor Tyuttschew .
