David Staehelin
David Stähelin (born October 8, 1673 in St. Gallen ; † May 1, 1750 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).
Life
David Stähelin was born as the son of Heinrich Stähelin, preacher and auditor in the town church of St. Laurenzen , and his wife Helena Mittelholzer.
As a Gürtler, he was a member of the blacksmiths' guild and was a 911 and city judge from 1711 to 1721. In 1721 he was elected guild master and remained so until his election as mayor in 1725; to 1740 he was every three years with Jacob Züblin , Hans Jacob Rietmann and Hochreutiner Christoph office mayor, former mayor and Reich Vogt . In 1740 he gave up his office for health reasons.
David Stähelin was married to Barbara, daughter of Gallus Hiller, Säckler and Fischschauer (quality controller ).
