Jeanne Galway

Jeanne Cinnante Galway (born October 8, 1955 in New York City ) is an American flautist and music teacher.

Jeanne Cinnante is a graduate of Mann's College of Music in New York. In 1984 she met the Irish flautist Sir James Galway , whom she married two years later and with whom she lives in Switzerland.

She suspended her own concert activity until 1992, since then she has appeared regularly with her husband as a flute duo in recitals and with internationally renowned symphony orchestras such as the orchestras of Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Denver. She is also a member of the Zephyr trio with pianist Jonathan Feldman and cellist Darrett Adkins , with whom she goes on concert tours and recorded the album Winds of Romance , and also works with other chamber music ensembles such as the London Mozart Players and I Solisti Veneti . Further recordings with her have appeared at RCA Victor , BMG Classics and Deutsche Grammophon , among others .

She dedicates herself to promoting young musicians at the annual ten-day Galway Flute Festival , which she organizes with her husband in Switzerland, and on interactive internet platforms ( First Flute , Galway Flute Academy ).
