Bakermat (born October 8, 1991 ; real name Lodewijk Fluttert ) is a Dutch DJ and music producer from Utrecht . His music can be assigned to the genre Deep House and Tropical House and is characterized by jazz and soul elements . In many of his works instruments such as pan flute , trumpet and, above all, saxophone form the accompaniment.

Life

Fluttert spent the first years of his life in Markelo , the Netherlands , until he moved to Utrecht as a young adult to start studying psychology. During his studies, Fluttert began to deal with deep house and the production of music. He released his first EP Vandaag in the summer of 2012. It consists of the track Vandaag ( Dutch : today), which contains a sample of Martin Luther King's famous speech " I Have a Dream ", and another track Zomer (Dutch: summer). Vandaag was a summer hit in the Netherlands in 2013 and also reached top 5 positions in the Belgian hit lists and even number one in France . In March 2014, the song was released under the title One Day (Vandaag) in German-speaking countries and immediately hit the sales charts here as well. For over 400,000 units sold, the song was awarded a platinum record by the Federal Association of the Music Industry in 2014.
