Anton Hye

Anton Hye (born October 8, 1761 in Aspern , † September 19, 1831 in Vienna ) was an Austrian Roman Catholic clergyman, educator and author.

Life

Anton Hye studied at the University of Vienna and was ordained a priest in 1785 . In the same year he became director of the Zoller secondary school in Vienna and in 1788 catechist and professor of catechetics at the normal secondary school near St. Anna .

In 1796 he was appointed pastor of Hadres in Lower Austria in the district under the Manhartsberg (VUMB). In 1807 he became dean and school district supervisor at the Pulkau and in 1815 honorary canon at St. Stephan in Vienna. Due to the bad climatic conditions, he had moved from his dean's to Vienna in 1829 , but he was no longer able to restore his health.
