Hadres

The wine village of Hadres is located in the Pulkautal in the wine district of Lower Austria. The area of the market town covers 34.46 km², 8.99% of the area is forested. The vineyard area is 756 hectares (as of 1999). In Hadres, with a length of 1.6 km, is the longest structurally closed cellar lane in Europe, which runs north of the Pulkau up to the Schatzberg and was used in 2002 as a motif for an Austrian 58 cent stamp.

history

In the course of the Babenberg securing of the border in the Pulkautal after 1050, a follower Gottschalk settled in the form of an "old hoof". The name Haederichsdorf developed secondarily because the farm was owned by the "Haderiche" (Lords of Nöstach). In the late Middle Ages, a village developed through settlement. From the late Middle Ages, the ownership structure was severely fragmented. Numerous noble families were wealthy in the wine village, so that in 1590 the 77 houses of the place were divided into 12 manors. In 1786 the Imbach monastery, which also owned property in Hadres, was dissolved.

The population has remained constant since 1991, as the negative birth balance is canceled out by a positive migration balance .

economy

In 2010 there were 126 agricultural and forestry holdings (in 1999 there were 253). 54 of these were full-time farms that farmed 84 percent of the area. In the production sector there are nine companies that employ 34 workers, mostly in construction. With 56 companies, the service sector gives 198 people work, mostly in trade and in social and public services (as of 2011).

Sports

The market town of Hadres is home to two football clubs, the UFC Hadres-Markersdorf (2nd class Pulkautal) and the UFC Obritz (Regional League North / Northwest). The junior teams of both clubs play in the JHG Nordwest (Youth Main Group Northwest) of the NÖFV.
