geography

Pernersdorf is located in the Weinviertel in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the market town covers 25.82 square kilometers, only about one percent of the area is forested.

The municipality includes the following five localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

Neighboring communities

history

In the course of the Babenberg securing of the border in the Pulkautal after 1050, a follower Pernhart settled in the form of an "old hoof". It was not until the late Middle Ages that a village with three-field farming developed through settlement.

Today's market town was created through the amalgamation of the municipalities in 1971. In 1974 Pernersdorf was raised to a market town.

In 2010 there were 62 agricultural and forestry businesses in Pernersdorf (in 1999 there were 153), of which 29 were full-time businesses. In the manufacturing sector, 21 workers were employed in seven factories, mainly in the manufacture of goods.
