Jakob Augustsson (born October 8, 1980 in Häljarp ) is a Swedish football player . The defender has played his career so far in his home country and Norway.

Career

Augustsson comes from the youth of Landskrona BoIS . When he was in the second division at that time, he moved up to the adult team in 1998 and established himself as a regular at the club in the following season. At the end of the season he qualified with the team for the Superettan , the newly created single-track second highest division. At the same time he played in various junior national teams of Svenska Fotbollförbundet .

In early 2001 Augustsson moved to the Norwegian club Lyn Oslo in the Tippeligaen . In the first year only used in four season games, he reached third place in the table as a regular with the team in the 2002 season . After another year in Norway, he returned to Sweden in early 2004 and joined Helsingborgs IF in Allsvenskan . In the 2004 season he was for long stretches in the regular formation of coach Peter Swärdh , he wavered at the beginning of the following season between starting eleven and bench. Shortly before the end of the exchange period in the summer he left the club on loan, with Sandefjord Fotball he again went to a Norwegian club. For the club he played seven games in the second-rate Adeccoligaen . He then returned to Helsingborgs IF, but did not get beyond the role of a supplementary player at Swärdh, interim solution Hans Eklund and his successor Stuart Baxter .

Augustsson then moved to third division team Ängelholms FF in Division 1 in early 2007 ; with the club he rose to the Superettan. Here he was a regular on the defensive for several years. At the end of the 2011 season , the club reached the relegation games to Allsvenskan. After a 2-1 first leg win against Syrianska FC , it was 2-1 in the second leg shortly before the final whistle, before ÄFF defensive player David Bennhage unluckily extended a cross into his own goal to make it 3-1.
