Rudolf Angerer

Rudolf Angerer (born November 24, 1923 in Großraming ; † May 17, 1996 in Vienna ) was an Austrian illustrator and caricaturist .

Life

Angerer attended grammar school in Linz and from 1946 studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. He worked as a political cartoonist for the Austrian daily Kurier for thirty years . He also illustrated books by Ephraim Kishon , Fritz Muliar , Helmut Qualtinger , Hugo Wiener , Trude Marzik , Carl Merz , Cissy Kraner and other authors. He also designed the covers of the 7 "/ 45rpm record series" Kabarett aus Wien "from the Austrian record label Preiser Records . He usually signs his caricatures with" RANG ".

Rudi Angerer's passion was ships and the sea. Therefore he spent a lot of time in the Marina Punta Verde, a port near Lignano . Angerer had been a member of the Zur Truth Lodge since 1979 and a founding member of the Helios Lodge in 1995.

Angerer was buried at the Neustift cemetery .
