Andrea Aureli

Andrea Aureli (born March 5, 1923 in Terni , † November 5, 2007 in Rome , stage name Andrew Ray ) was an Italian actor .

Life

After finishing school, Aureli initially took courses in law, but soon, in 1946, went on a scholarship to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia , where he also wrote works on the films Paisà and Intolerance . In 1947 Lucio Fulci's classmate graduated and received his first film role; But it was not until 1952 that he began a steady and extensive career in which he mainly took on character roles in adventure films of all kinds; rarely sympathetic characters, often hostile to the film hero. He made numerous sandals movies , spaghetti westerns and cloak-and-dagger films , later, many police movies , but also comedies . An intensive working relationship connected him with director Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia , with whom he appeared in around 20 films - in total his filmography recorded over 140 appearances up to 1987; since then he had only been seen twice. Aureli also worked for television in the 1970s.

Aureli was often Anglicized as Andrew Ray listed.
