The 44 Specialist (also The .44 Specialist , original title: Mark colpisce ancora ) is an Italian crime film that Stelvio Massi directed in 1976. The third and final part of the film series about Commissioner Mark Patti was premiered on video in German-speaking countries in July 1984.
action
Inspector Mark Patti infiltrates a group of German-speaking anarchists as a beatnik in Trastevere , led by Paul Henkel and Olga Kube. Both take Mark with them to Vienna, where he tries to offer the local police and Interpol the information he has gathered about upcoming attacks. However, no measures are taken, the attacks take place. Inspector Altman, who is about to die, and other officials appear to be involved in the group activities.
Mark continues his double play and takes part in a train kidnapping to blackmail the release of Olga, who has been arrested in the meantime. With Paul and her, we go back to Vienna in search of the financier behind the attacks, but ultimately cannot make out who was behind the attack and returns to Rome.
criticism
Segnalazione cinematografiche judged that the film offers more than the usual one-against-all scheme, but that there is no inner development, since after an interesting description of terrorist actions it does not offer a suitable thesis, but rather reveals bizarre explanations. Karsten Thurau criticized the fact that the dramaturgical threads got completely out of hand, like the lexicon of international films , which saw an "Italian thriller with partly confused development of the story", but praised the performance of the actors, especially Steiners and Saxons.
Remarks
The previous films with the protagonist were Mark il poliziotto and Mark il poliziotto spara per primo , both staged by Massi in 1975 with Gasparri in the lead role, whose character in these two works was, however, "Terzi".
