Olga Lilli Wolff (born June 9, 1923 at a fruit farm in Ansbach , Middle Franconia ; † July 11, 2008 in Lohr am Main ) was a German , more precisely Franconian painter , graphic artist and writer .

In her life, Olga Knoblach-Wolff tried to consider and portray the constant connection between people and the supernatural world.

Life

In 1933 her family moved to Gemünden . After elementary school , she studied at the house daughters' school in Würzburg and with the Franciscan Sisters in Lohr . If you stay with us, you can always paint - but she didn't want to become a nun .

Beginning at the Würzburg art school

Her path began in the Würzburg art school with Heiner Dikreiter , the next step would have been the art academy in Munich , but her father did not accept the artistic path and asked her to learn technical draftsmen .

Olga married Anton Knoblach in 1946, and their son Rainer was born in 1947. Employed in 1955/60 to build a house, everything took its normal course. A complete reversal meant her cancer in 1969 . Her time had not yet come, a new beginning began on all levels. In the 1970s she dealt with philosophy , she read Plato , Nietzsche , caught up with everything she always wanted to do. After two years of therapy she started painting again.

She discovers fantastic realism

Olga Knoblach-Wolff had previously worked purely naturalistically , now she discovered Fantastic Realism for herself, and this is how her first picture of her own came about, the cycle . The first group exhibitions in Gemünden followed. In 1977 her husband died.

Member of the professional association of visual artists in Nuremberg

In 1979 she presented ten of her paintings to the academic jury of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK) in Nuremberg . The following rule applies there: “... freelance artists who have completed an academy degree in a free artistic discipline are accepted. Autodidacts as freelance artists can be accepted by a jury. ” Olga Knoblach-Wolff faced this decision courageously - and was recognized as a professional painter , and she was immediately offered membership in the Bavarian Visual Artists Association.

A quote on the gate with the flood levels since 1682, “... the Main , Sinn and Saale flowed unrestrained , see the flood level of 1845! What kind of feeling might it have been when someone stood up to his knees in the water when he got up and went to sleep unsuspectingly in the evening? He had to leave his house through the window on the first floor and poke through the flooded town with a rattle. The people of Gemünden were used to living by and with their rivers. Today the rivers are straightened and regulated ... "
