Alois Anzenberger

Alois Anzenberger (born March 26, 1923 in Würmla ; † July 5, 2005 in Tulln an der Donau ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1962 to 1964 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1964 to 1990 .

education and profession

Anzenberger completed compulsory school between 1929 and 1937 and initially worked in his parents' farm. He did military service from 1942 to 1945 during the Second World War, where he was taken prisoner of war and spent five months in Carinthia. After his return, Anzenberger attended the agricultural training school in Würmla from 1946 to 1948 and also completed further training courses for public relations and politics between 1947 and 1950. He worked as a farmer in Anzing (Würmla municipality), taking over his parents' business in 1953. Anzenberger was awarded the professional title of economics council in 1973 and retired in 1990.

politics

Anzenberger began his political career in 1950 as a managing member of the Würmla municipal council, in 1960 he was promoted to vice mayor and in 1965 to mayor, where he held this office until 1996. He also represented the ÖVP in the Federal Council from June 19, 1962 to November 19, 1964 and was then a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from November 19, 1964 to April 18, 1990. Within the party he acted as local party chairman of the ÖVP-Würmla and main district party chairman of the ÖVP-Tulln, he was also the district chairman and member of the state board of the senior citizens' union . Between 1956 and 1960 he also held the function of a regional chamber council of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture , was chairman of the Atzenbrugg District Farmers Chamber from 1976 to 1989 and from 1974 president of the Austrian hail insurance company .
