Austrian Seniors' Association
The Austrian Seniors' Union is a sub-organization of the Austrian People's Party . It sees itself as a non-profit advocacy group for the older generation and, with around 300,000 members and around 2,200 district and local groups, is the largest of the ÖVP groups.
The former President of the National Council, Andreas Khol, was Federal Chairman from 2005 to January 2016 . He succeeded the deceased former Vice Governor of Carinthia, Stefan Knafl , who had previously been Chairman of the Seniors' Union for twelve years. In January 2016, Khol succeeded his previous deputy Ingrid Korosec .
The organization is comparable to the senior citizens 'union of the CDU and the senior citizens' union of the CSU in Germany .
