Ingrid Korosec

Ingrid Korosec (born November 22, 1940 in Böheimkirchen ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). She was u. a. ÖVP General Secretary and Ombudsman for the Republic of Austria for six years .

Life

Born in Lower Austria , she joined ADEG -St after graduating from commercial school in 1956 . Pölten one, graduated from the Commercial College and studied after graduation a few semesters economy . She then worked for several decades in private management , as early as 1961 as head of an IT department, from 1982 as central works council chairwoman and from 1984–94 in the Vienna Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees .

She began her political career in 1983 as a councilor and member of the Vienna Landtag . In 1986 she was elected to the National Council, to which she was a member for nine years, and from 1991–95 as General Secretary of the Austrian People's Party. In 1995 she was elected a member of the Ombudsman Board and held that position for six years. Then she moved back to the Vienna City Council .

In January 2016, she took over the federal chairmanship of the Austrian Seniors' Union as the successor to Andreas Khol . On November 7, 2019, she was elected as deputy chairman, Walter Pöltner, at the constituent meeting of the Pension Fund Commission.

Ingrid Korosec is the mother of two sons and has three grandchildren. She devotes her free time to culture and sport.
