Martin Schetter

Martin Schetter (born June 27, 1923 in Grünmettstetten ; † October 12, 2003 in Sulzbach an der Murr ) was a German CDU politician .

Life

Schetter completed an apprenticeship as a flasher and plumber. He then trained as a mechanic at Bosch. Schetter was also active as a union official at the Christian Metal Union (CMV). In 1950 he became a member of the CDU. In 1966 Schetter was elected Federal Managing Director of the CMV. From 1972 to 1987 he was its chairman. On November 3, 1975, he replaced the resigned MP Helmut Prassler and was a member of the German Bundestag until the end of the 1976 electoral term . On October 17, 1978, he replaced Heinz Eyrich , who had left the Bundestag, and stayed there until the end of the 1980 electoral term.
