Roberto Caamaño
Roberto Caamaño (born July 7, 1923 in Buenos Aires ; † June 8, 1993 ibid) was an Argentine composer, pianist and music teacher .
Caamaño studied piano and composition in Buenos Aires. He was a professor at the Conservatorio de Buenos Aires and at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral ( Santa Fe ). In 1966 he became dean of the Universidad Católica de Argentina . From 1960 to 1963 he was artistic director of the Teatro Colón . As a pianist, he performed mainly in Argentina, but also in Europe.
He composed a. a. two piano concertos, a concert for bandoneon, Variaciones americanas for orchestra, Fábulas para coro and a Sinfonieta . His most famous work is the Cantata para la paz .
