Reinhard Ludewig

Reinhard Ludewig (born October 4, 1923 in Dresden ; † November 30, 2016 ) was a German pharmacologist and toxicologist .

Live and act

Reinhard Ludewig grew up in Dresden. After the Second World War he studied medicine in Vienna and Erlangen . From 1953 he worked in Dresden as a general practitioner and in a laboratory in the Dresden pharmaceuticals factory . In 1956 he began working at the Pharmacological Institute of the University of Leipzig . There he completed his habilitation in 1963 with the thesis Experimental contribution to the epicutaneous and intraoral application of high-percentage hydrogen peroxide solutions.

In 1977 he was appointed lecturer and in 1979 professor for clinical pharmacology and toxicology. In his teaching, Reinhard Ludewig worked on closing the gap between pharmacotherapeutic teaching content, classical pharmacology and the clinical-toxicological disciplines. In 1984 he became director of the Institute for Clinical Pharmacology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Leipzig. In 1989 he retired .

Since his retirement he has devoted himself particularly to medical graphology and writing psychology. He examined handwritten texts by well-known personalities such as Ludwig van Beethoven , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Sebastian Bach and tried to research the effects of poisons, the course of the disease and the causes of death by studying reports on their diseases.
