Nikolaus Schilling (actor)
Nikolaus Schilling (born August 31, 1923 in Detmold ; actually Nikolaus Ohm-Schilling ) is a German actor .
life and career
Nikolaus Schilling graduated from high school in 1942 and was then called up for military service in Lapland on the Arctic Ocean front . After returning home from captivity, he graduated from the Hanover Drama School from 1947 to 1949 . In 1949 he made his debut at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen . Further stage stations until 1964 were the Ingolstadt City Theater , the stages of the City of Münster , the Wiesbaden State Theater and the Frankfurt City Theaters .
From 1964 to 1967 he belonged to the Mainingera cabaret in Frankfurt. He then made guest appearances at the Komödie im Marquardt in Stuttgart , at the Heppenheim Festival and, since 1980, mainly at the Thalia Theater , the Hamburger Kammerspiele and the Ernst Deutsch Theater .
Schilling appeared occasionally from 1950, regularly from the 1960s on in various film and television productions. He was mostly seen in bizarre supporting roles, around 1970 as the pirate Kalle in Pippi in Taka-Tuka-Land . With Loriot he played a lover of the color gray in Oedipussi (1988) and a peddler in Pappa ante portas (1991) who talks about the end of the world and sells brushes against it. On television he played, among other things, in 1974, as a result of the visit from the east zone of the television series Ein Herz und eine Seele, the father of Diether Krebs . Most recently he was in front of the camera in five episodes between 2004 and 2006 for the television series Ein Fall für den Fuchs .
His numerous theater roles included Bleichwang and Mavolio in Was ihr wollt , Wurm in Kabale und Liebe , Wagner in Goethe's Faust , Riccaut de la Marlinière in Minna von Barnhelm , Grébauval in Hochwälder's The Public Prosecutor , Tranio in The Taming of the Shrew , Skinny Cousin in Jedermann and Givola in The Resistant Rise of Arturo Ui . He also worked as a theater director and made a name for himself on cabaret stages and at cultural events with his program Mensch und Unmensch as a reciter of the poems of Eugen Roth . In 2012 Schilling was still active as a stage actor in Holzminden , as of 2019 he lives in a senior citizens' home there.
